How birth details become a meaningful baby-name shortlist.

TaraGrid uses your baby’s birth date, recorded time and birthplace to find two traditional name lists: one focused and one broader.

The method, in four steps.

You do not need to understand astrology before you begin. Each result is explained in ordinary language.

    Enter three birth details

    Birth date, recorded local time and birthplace establish the birth moment used for the calculation.

    TaraGrid finds the Moon’s position

    The position is calculated once using TaraGrid’s documented calculation method.

    You receive two clearly labelled name lists

    Both come from the same birth details. You do not need to choose between them.

    Nakshatra is the Moon’s birth-star section. The Moon’s exact position within it narrows the guidance to one traditional starting sound.

    Matching names are reviewed

    The calculation identifies the sounds. TaraGrid then checks each matching name for its sound, meaning and source before it appears in the report.

The report includes 5 focused names and 10 broader names. A sparse starting sound is completed from the same-sound family in your Nakshatra, using only names that pass review.

Why another tradition may give a different result.

Naming practices are not completely uniform across India. TaraGrid explains its method so families can compare guidance clearly.

Why does the recorded birth time matter?

The reading and its starting sound change at specific boundaries. When a birth occurs close to one, even a small difference in the recorded time can affect the result.

Why might our family priest suggest different sounds?

Regional practices, sound mappings and calculation conventions vary. TaraGrid presents one documented method and does not claim to represent every family tradition.

Does TaraGrid predict the baby’s future?

No. TaraGrid provides traditional naming guidance and name research. It does not predict personality or the future, and it does not replace a family priest.
