Yes. Both report options include a focused Nakshatra list and a broader Rashi list. They come from the same birth details, and you do not need to choose between them before starting.

For a baby who has been born, enter the date of birth, recorded local time and birthplace. These establish the Moon's position under TaraGrid's documented method.

Use the local birth time recorded by the hospital or on the birth certificate whenever possible. If the time is approximate, enter the closest recorded time and mark it as approximate; TaraGrid checks whether a nearby boundary could change the result.

If the time is unknown, TaraGrid explains what can still be calculated without asking you to guess. The exact starting sound cannot be identified without a birth time.

Enter the baby's date and time as recorded locally, then choose the correct birthplace, state and country. TaraGrid's worldwide place search applies the relevant local time zone and daylight-saving history automatically. You do not need to convert the time to IST.

Every reading is still complete — 5 focused Nakshatra names and 10 broader Rashi names. When an exact starting sound has fewer strong classical matches, the remaining focused names are drawn from the same-sound family within the Nakshatra. We never add weaker or invented names to reach a number.

The broader Rashi list gives your family more traditional sounds to explore while remaining clearly separate from the focused Nakshatra list.

TaraGrid does not replace the calculated result with an arbitrary sound. Instead, every report includes two routes: the closest sound linked to the Nakshatra and the broader group of sounds linked to the Rashi. The two lists remain clearly separated.

Regional practices, sound mappings and calculation conventions can differ. TaraGrid follows one documented Lahiri-based method and does not claim to represent every family tradition.

First check that the date, local time and birthplace match the recorded details. If they do, the difference may reflect another established convention; your family can decide which guidance to follow.

No. A name may be supported by a reviewed Sanskrit dictionary entry, a primary-text occurrence or a clearly stated modern-language origin. TaraGrid shows the evidence available for that name and does not imply that every name appears in scripture.

No. Software can help rank names from TaraGrid's reviewed collection, but it does not invent names or write meanings. Classical meanings and sources are reviewed before a name can appear in the report, and modern-origin options are clearly separated and labelled.

Families often use different English spellings or pronunciations across Indian languages and regions. TaraGrid shows Devanagari, a common English spelling and transliteration where relevant, but your family can choose the spelling used in everyday life and on official records. A spelling variation should still preserve the traditional starting sound.

Relatives see only the shortlisted names, meanings and source labels. They do not see the baby's birth details or the purchaser's contact information. The link is read-only, only the parents can change the shortlist, and sharing can be stopped from the report page.

Most reports are ready online shortly after payment is confirmed, and an email copy is sent as a backup. Family Naming Pack finalist cards are created after you choose the names.

If TaraGrid cannot deliver the core paid report within 72 hours of confirmed payment, the Refund and Cancellation Policy explains the available fulfilment or refund options.

Yes. Keep the report-page link from your confirmation email. While generated documents are retained, the report page can provide a fresh download link if an older link has expired.

Generated documents and identifying details are retained for up to 12 months, so download any copies you want to keep permanently.

If you entered the wrong date, local time or birthplace, contact support within seven calendar days of delivery. TaraGrid can regenerate the report once with the corrected details. This correction service is separate from the limited refund policy.

Personalised digital purchases are normally final. TaraGrid can review duplicate charges and verified calculation, delivery or paid-feature failures that it cannot correct. Change of mind, dissatisfaction with the available names, family disagreement or a different established naming convention do not normally qualify when TaraGrid correctly applied its disclosed method.

If you submitted incorrect birth details, contact support within seven calendar days for one complimentary regeneration. This is a correction service, not a refund entitlement.

No. TaraGrid is a one-time purchase. You will not be charged again unless you place a new order for another baby.

Birth details, contact details and generated documents are retained for up to 12 months so TaraGrid can deliver, correct and reissue the report. They are then deleted automatically.

You can request earlier deletion by writing to support from the email used for the order. Limited order and payment records may be retained longer where Indian law requires it.

TaraGrid does not sell your personal information. We use service providers and partners only where needed to run and promote the service, including payments, transactional email, data storage, analytics and advertising.

The ranking service does not receive your name, email address or raw birth date, time or place. See the Privacy Policy for the information used by each provider.
